Greetings pilgrims, As the pandemic continues to disrupt lives, we're starting to focus on and maybe even see the light at the end of the tunnel. We can't predict the future, but we can prepare for it...and we're so happy to announce our 2021 trip schedule! So pull up your calendar, dust off your hiking boots, and block off the dates for one of our 2021 tours. We all have some 2020 issues to work through, and what better way than to recenter and find your inner pilgrim while experiencing the magic of the Camino! One lesson we've learned from the Camino is that no matter how much we'd like to control life, things don't always go as planned. Although there have been a lot of tears spilled for 2020, we are focusing on the blessings of health and peace and starting to look forward to a time of walking again. In the spirit of preserving the breathtaking scenery we experience along the Way, Red Monkey Walking Travel always purchases carbon offset credits for each person who walks with us. Additionally, 10% of all profits will be donated to The Nature Conservancy tree planting funds. Blessings, stay safe and good health to you all. Buen Camino, Rachael Corinne Remembering the Camino during the pandemicHello pilgrims, As summer comes to an end, we would typically be preparing for our fall Camino tours. Since the pandemic has halted this year’s walks, instead we have some time to check in with how some pilgrims are finding their way through Covid. Lauren walked with us a few years ago, and each day created amazing arrangements from the wildflowers and herbs she found! The best Camino hat ever had a crown of flowers. Now she's replaced her Camino backpack for a backpack full of vegetables from her garden. She's still radiating pure delight with that smile. And those flowers!
And Jan and Adrienne have been taking weekly long Camino style walks in California. Here they are in the Redwoods in July. These redwoods are enchanted, to say the least. Unfortunately, with the recent fires, these forests have been badly burned, but the air has finally cleared and they are able to go outside again. What a great reminder that beauty exists everywhere, especially in the simple things in life! Wishing you all a joyful fall full of beauty, |
